    Ahmedabad Metro Phase 2 achieves a milestone with the successful launch of the Sabarmati River Bridge segment

    Ahmedabad: Afcons Infrastructure attains a major feat by successfully launching the final precast box segment for the Sabarmati River Bridge, a pivotal component of the 28.254 km Ahmedabad Metro Phase 2 project. The milestone, observed between piers P46 – P47, signifies remarkable advancement in constructing Package C1, spanning 14.36 km.

    The recently inaugurated 810-meter bridge assumes significant importance, serving as a crucial link connecting the Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) to the Gujarat International Finance Tech City (GIFT City), according to reports by Metro Rail Guy. As a pivotal component of Phase 2’s Package C1, this segment plays a vital role in bolstering regional connectivity.

    Integral to Package C1, the Sabarmati Bridge comprises 24 spans and a total of 340 segments, marking a construction journey that commenced in May 2023 with the launch of the first segment and reached its zenith with the recent unveiling of the final segment. Notably situated 19.3 km upstream from the Blue Line’s Sabarmati Bridge, built during Ahmedabad Metro’s Phase 1 between 2018-2021 by Tata Projects – CCECC JV.
