    CHENNAI: Formerly the leader of the Opposition in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, Vijayakanth was admitted to a hospital and placed on ventilator support after experiencing breathing difficulties, as conveyed by the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam through a post on its official handle on X.
    He was placed on ventilatory support after testing positive for COVID-19.
