New Delhi: After receiving bomb threats via email at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport and several government hospitals in the national capital, Delhi police have confirmed the absence of any suspicious items. “Nothing suspicious was found,” stated the police.

The threats, originating from unidentified email accounts, targeted IGI Airport as well as two government hospitals—Burari Government Hospital and Mangolpuri’s Sanjay Gandhi Hospital—on Sunday afternoon, according to DCP North Manoj Meena. “An email was received at Burari Hospital regarding a bomb threat. Local police, bomb squad, dog squad were rushed to the spot. Teams are checking the hospital.

Nothing suspicious has been found yet,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (north) M K Meena. Additionally, Sanjay Gandhi Hospital also received a bomb threat, as per police reports.

In response to the alarming emails, the Delhi Police promptly launched investigations and conducted search operations at the mentioned locations, in collaboration with the Fire Services Department teams. Simultaneously, five additional government hospitals—Dada Dev Hospital in Dabri, Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Hospital in Hari Nagar, Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital in Dilshad Garden, Hindu Rao Hospital in Malka Ganj, and Aruna Asaf Ali Govt Hospital on Rajpur Road—also received bomb threats on Sunday evening, necessitating enhanced security measures.

Dr. SK Kaakraan, Medical Superintendent at Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital, stated, “Police and the bomb squad team conducted a thorough search of the entire hospital, but nothing suspicious was found. We are conducting our own investigation, alongside the police.”

These incidents mirror the pattern of bomb threats directed at multiple schools in Delhi-NCR approximately two weeks prior. On May 1st, a total of 131 schools received threatening emails, later revealed to be a ‘hoax’ by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).

This recent wave of bomb threat emails occurred nearly two weeks after similar threats were sent to schools in Delhi-NCR. According to Delhi Police reports, a total of 131 schools received threatening emails on May 1st, with the MHA later issuing an official statement denouncing the threats as a ‘hoax’ (ANI).
