    Sushil Modi’s Passing Mourned by PM Modi: A Friendship Spanning Decades Remembered

    Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences over the passing of former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi. Taking to X, PM Modi wrote in Hindi, mourning the loss of his esteemed colleague and longtime friend. He highlighted Sushil Modi’s significant contributions to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Bihar, noting his staunch opposition to the Emergency and his pivotal role in student politics.

    PM Modi praised Sushil Modi’s dedication as an MLA, his astute understanding of political issues, and his commendable administrative efforts. He particularly remembered Sushil Modi’s active involvement in the passage of the Goods and Services Tax (GST). PM Modi extended his sympathies to Sushil Modi’s family and supporters during this difficult time, concluding with the traditional prayer, “Om Shanti.”

    Sushil Modi, who had been battling cancer, passed away on Monday while undergoing treatment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi. Union Minister Giriraj Singh also mourned Sushil Modi’s demise on X, emphasizing his immense contributions to Bihar and the BJP. Singh conveyed heartfelt condolences to Sushil Modi’s family and loved ones, offering prayers for peace.

    Last month, Sushil Modi had shared on X that he had been fighting cancer for the past six months and, consequently, would not be able to participate in the Lok Sabha elections. He expressed gratitude for the support and understanding extended by Prime Minister.
