    Jammu and Kashmir: In the Hadigam region of Kulgam district, an encounter has commenced

    Srinagar: “An encounter has initiated in the Hadigam area of Kulgam district. The Kulgam Police, along with the Army and CRPF, are actively involved in addressing the situation. More information will be provided shortly,” stated the Kashmir Zone Police on X Wednesday evening.

    A current engagement is taking place in Hadigam village of Kulgam, located in south Kashmir, involving security forces and terrorists.

    It said that as soon as searches were started, the hiding terrorists opened fire.

    Police said that the fire was returned, triggering in an encounter.

    It said that the firing stopped and operation would be suspended in the backdrop of darkness.

    “The cordon has been tightened and more reinforcements have arrived,” Police said.
