Lok Sabha 2024: Union Home Minister Amit Shah, during his Wednesday address at election rallies in Uttar Pradesh, accused the Samajwadi Party (SP) government of providing uninterrupted electricity during Ramzan but not on Janmashtami. He asserted that the current Lok Sabha elections represent a choice between those who built the Ram temple and those who fired upon Lord Ram’s devotees.
Amit Shah supported BJP and NDA candidates in four rallies across Uttar Pradesh, focusing on the final phase of the Lok Sabha elections.
In Ballia, Shah criticized the Akhilesh Yadav-led SP government for fostering a climate of criminality and praised Yogi Adityanath’s administration for eliminating such threats. He alleged that under Akhilesh Yadav, power supply was highly inconsistent, favoring certain religious periods over others.
Addressing a rally in Deoria, Shah claimed that the Opposition had tried to impede the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. He emphasized that the election is a contest between those who facilitated the temple’s construction and those who opposed it.
In Maharajganj, Shah predicted that Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav would blame electronic voting machines (EVMs) for their expected defeat, dismissing their anticipated press conference complaints as baseless.
Shah boasted that the BJP had secured over 300 seats in the first five rounds of the elections. He also accused Akhilesh Yadav’s administration of being involved in the Sahara scam, contrasting it with Prime Minister Modi’s efforts to refund the affected customers.
Commending Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Shah praised his dual efforts in promoting cleanliness and combating criminal elements.
The polling for the Lok Sabha elections concludes on June 1, with the vote counting scheduled for June 4.
