Tata Motors: Tata Motors is gearing up to launch the highly anticipated Tata Altroz Racer in the Indian market. This sportier version of the regular Altroz will feature a powerful engine, cosmetic enhancements, and an updated interior with new features. The Altroz Racer was first showcased at the 2023 Delhi Auto Expo and later at this year’s Bharat Mobility Expo.
Ahead of its official launch, Tata Motors has begun accepting bookings for the hatchback. Interested customers can book it online or at their nearest dealership. The company has released several teasers revealing key details about the hatchback. Here’s what we know so far:
The Altroz Racer boasts a new orange paint scheme with a contrasting black roof and dual white stripes running the length of the bonnet and roof. It also features blacked-out roof, wing mirrors, window line, A, B, and C pillars, and an integrated spoiler. Additional design highlights include a shark-fin antenna, ‘Racer’ badging, redesigned front and rear bumpers with air intakes, and a refreshed front and radiator grille.
Inside, the Racer sports a black dashboard with colored accents and contrast stitching on the seats and steering wheel. It includes colored inserts and ambient lighting that matches the exterior color. The teaser confirmed an electric sunroof, and other features include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a fully digital instrument cluster, connected car tech, ventilated seats, a 360-degree camera, heads-up display, voice-assisted sunroof, automatic climate control, wireless charging, cruise control, parking sensors, and more.
In terms of safety, the Altroz Racer is equipped with 6 airbags, TPMS, ISOFIX mounts, electronic stability control (ESC), hill assist control, and three-point seatbelts with reminders for all passengers. The standard Tata Altroz has already earned a 5-star safety rating in Global NCAP crash tests.
The Altroz Racer will be powered by a more robust 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine producing 120 bhp and 170 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. Tata is also expected to offer a Dual-clutch DCA automatic gearbox option.
