Lakshadweep: PM Modi snorkels in Lakshadweep, urges adventure enthusiasts to add the destination to their bucket list with captivating coral and fish photos.

“Embraced adventure in Lakshadweep with an exhilarating snorkeling experience. The tranquil beauty of the islands provided a serene backdrop for reflection on serving the 140 crore Indians. Shared glimpses of morning walks along pristine beaches,” PM Modi posted on X, encapsulating his Lakshadweep visit.

Snorkeling involves swimming near the water’s surface using a mask and a breathing tube called a snorkel. Unlike scuba diving, snorkelers stay at the surface, enjoying panoramic underwater views without deep diving.

In 2019, the world witnessed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s adventurous spirit as he appeared on Discovery channel’s ‘Man vs Wild’ show with survivalist Bear Grylls. Grylls praised the Prime Minister for his calm and cheerful demeanor as they tested survival skills in the untamed wilderness of Corbett National Park in Uttarakhand.

Bear Grylls released a 45-second promo of the special episode on X before its broadcast, causing a buzz on the internet. The clip showcased a distinct and unexpected side of the PM, capturing widespread attention and intrigue.

The 45-second promo depicted the 68-year-old Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, driving into the park, accompanied by visuals of wildlife, including a tiger, a herd of elephants, and deer in motion. Other scenes showcased Modi crafting a makeshift spear and navigating a handmade raft across a river in heavy rain.

In an interview with the news agency ANI, Bear Grylls highlighted Modi’s remarkable humility during the adventure. Grylls mentioned that despite continuous rainfall, there was a “big smile” on the global leader’s face throughout the journey.

“What shone bright for me was his humility. He was a very humble guy and even though there was pouring rain and his secret services were trying to get out umbrellas, he said ‘no I’m fine’ and then we reached a river. I made this raft out of reeds and a tarpaulin. I said I think we can get across the river using this, but the secret services were like ‘we cannot put the Prime Minister in a little homemade raft’. But he (Modi) said he was fine and we’d do this together. He asked me to get in too, but the things started sinking. So it was me swimming and pushing him, he was soaking wet but there was a big smile on his face even through the rain. You learn about people in those moments,” Grylls had said.

“You are the most important man in India. My job is to protect you,” he said in the video, covering PM Narendra Modi’s shoulder with a jacket.

Responding to Grylls, when he points out evident dangers lurking in their vicinity, PM Modi said, “We should not take this place as a danger zone. When we go against nature then everything becomes dangerous; human beings too become dangerous. On the other hand, if we co-operate with nature, then she also co-operates with us.”
