New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government will usher in a new era of decision-making in its third term, which Prime Minister Narendra Modi has termed “Modi’s Guarantee.” Following the recent Lok Sabha polls, where the BJP emerged as the largest party but fell short of a majority, Modi spoke confidently about the government’s future plans.

Leaders from alliance parties, including Chandrababu Naidu (TDP) and Nitish Kumar (JDU), will meet on Wednesday to discuss the formation of the new government. These leaders are expected to negotiate significant reforms or ministerial positions, a change from the BJP’s past dominance since its majority wins in 2014 and 2019.

Modi emphasized that the third term would be marked by bold decisions, attributing the NDA’s success to the strength of democracy. He praised the BJP’s performance, highlighting victories in the Odisha state polls and the party’s dominance in several states, while downplaying the decrease in the number of seats won.

Despite not achieving his pre-poll target of 370 seats, Modi celebrated the historic opportunity for the NDA to serve a third consecutive term, a first since 1962. He attributed the NDA’s strength to the trust and support of the people, pledging to continue fighting poverty and corruption, and striving to make India the world’s third-largest economy.

Modi also criticized the Opposition, asserting that their collective efforts failed to match the BJP’s performance. He celebrated the BJP’s victories in multiple state elections and declared the Congress party’s decline in several states.

He framed the election results as a triumph of democracy and constitutional loyalty, denying Opposition claims that the BJP intended to amend the Constitution. Modi thanked NDA partners and women voters, attributing the BJP’s success to their unwavering support. He expressed personal gratitude, noting the emotional significance of this election following his mother’s death in 2022, and acknowledged the unprecedented support from women across the country.
