Ahmedabad: Ahmedabad can expect some relief as daytime temperatures are set to drop due to impending thunderstorms. The city will experience these storms starting Sunday, with the weather pattern likely continuing into the following week.

Rains have already begun in the eastern parts of the state and are expected to reach Anand by Saturday, leading to a downpour in the Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar region by Sunday. The IMD forecast on Wednesday predicted light rain and thundershowers in isolated places across Dahod, Chhota Udepur, Dang, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli on Thursday and Friday (June 6 & 7).

This weather pattern will extend to southern Saurashtra, including Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir Somnath, and Diu, by Saturday. On Sunday, light to moderate rain and thundershowers are expected in various districts of South Gujarat, as well as in Ahmedabad, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Gandhinagar, Aravalli, Kheda, Anand, Panchmahals, Dahod, and Mahisagar.

On Wednesday, Ahmedabad recorded a maximum temperature of 41.7°C, which was 0.8°C above normal, and a minimum temperature of 29°C, which was 0.9°C above normal.
