Ahmedabad: Three people died and one was grievously injured in a car crash between a speeding Fortuner and a Thar on Ahmedabad’s SP Ring Road early Monday morning.

DCP of Traffic (West) Neeta Desai reported that liquor bottles were found in the Fortuner car.

Desai explained, “The Fortuner was traveling from the Gandhinagar side along SP Ring Road, while the Thar was heading towards the Rajpath Club road cut from Bopal.” The speeding Fortuner collided with the Thar as it made a turn towards the cut.

“The crash resulted in the deaths of two individuals in the Thar, including the driver and the front passenger, both residents of Viramgam. Additionally, the front passenger of the Fortuner also died, and the driver is hospitalized with injuries,” Desai added, noting that an investigation is ongoing.

No FIR has been registered yet as the crime scene panchnama is still in progress, according to the M-division traffic police station inspector.
