Ahmedabad: Heavy rainfall was recorded in Daman and parts of South Gujarat over the past 24 hours, while other regions experienced only scattered showers. North Gujarat and Saurashtra saw isolated rain, with Kutch remaining mostly dry.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the southwest monsoon has officially withdrawn from parts of west Rajasthan and Kutch as of Tuesday, later than the usual September 17 date. The withdrawal line now extends through Anupgarh, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Bhuj, and Dwarka. Over the next 24 hours, the monsoon is expected to retreat further from west Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, and Gujarat.

In Ahmedabad, cloudy skies are expected on Wednesday. On Tuesday, the maximum temperature reached 36°C, 1.8°C above normal, and the minimum was 27°C, 2.4°C higher than usual. Humidity levels were recorded at 85% in the morning and 55% in the evening. The city has received 42.86 inches of rainfall this season, which is 13.81 inches above the average.

In Rajpipla, the water level at the Sardar Sarovar Dam in Gujarat rose to 138.31 meters on Tuesday, nearing its overflow mark due to increased inflows from rains in neighboring Madhya Pradesh, according to dam authorities.
