Business News: Zomato’s Co-founder and Chief People Officer, Akriti Chopra, has resigned with immediate effect after a 13-year tenure, the company informed the stock exchange on September 27, 2024.
In her exit email to Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal, Chopra wrote, “Deepi, as discussed, formally sending in my resignation effective today, September 27, 2024. It’s been an incredibly enriching journey over the past 13 years. Thank you for everything. I’m always a call away. Wishing you and Eternal the very best.” The email was made public through the stock exchange.
Chopra, who is married to Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhindsa, is a key figure in the Gurugram-based company. Her departure follows a series of high-profile exits at Zomato. Around the same time, Rahul Ganjoo, Zomato’s New Initiatives Head, and Siddharth Jhawar, head of the Intercity Legends service, also stepped down.
Chopra is the fifth co-founder to leave Zomato in the last two years, following the exits of Patidar, Pankaj Chaddah (who left in 2018), Gaurav Gupta (who left in 2021), and Mohit Gupta.
