Kuwait: Prime Minister Narendra Modi received Kuwait’s highest civilian honor, the ‘Mubarak Al-Kabeer Order,’ during a ceremony at Bayan Palace, presented by Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

Traditionally awarded to Heads of State, foreign dignitaries, and royalty, the honor recognizes friendship and collaboration. PM Modi, who has been conferred with over 20 international accolades, now joins past recipients like US Presidents Bill Clinton and George Bush and UK royal King Charles III.

Kuwait’s news agency KUNA highlighted that the award acknowledges Modi’s role in strengthening ties between the two nations. His visit marks the first by an Indian prime minister to Kuwait in 43 years.

During the two-day trip, PM Modi held productive discussions with the Kuwaiti Emir and Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah. He also engaged with the Indian diaspora in Kuwait and emphasized advancements in cooperation in areas such as pharmaceuticals, IT, FinTech, infrastructure, and security. In a social media post, Modi celebrated the elevation of India-Kuwait relations to a strategic partnership and expressed optimism for their continued growth.
