PM Modi Launches Scathing Attack on Rahul Gandhi, Accuses Him of Echoing Urban Naxal Rhetoric

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of adopting the language of urban Naxals. He also dismissed Gandhi’s recent claims regarding alleged lobbying by the External Affairs Minister for an invitation to Donald Trump’s inauguration and Gandhi’s “boring” remark about President Droupadi Murmu’s Budget speech.

    “Speaking Urban Naxal Language Openly”

“Today, some people openly echo the language of urban Naxals. These individuals, who advocate positions that essentially challenge the Indian state, neither understand the Constitution nor appreciate the country’s unity,” Modi remarked.

Without naming anyone directly, the Prime Minister appeared to target Gandhi’s earlier comment: “We are now fighting the BJP, the RSS, and the Indian State itself.”

PM Modi emphasized the government’s commitment to upholding constitutional values, contrasting it with what he described as the opposition’s “politics of poison.”

“Speaking About Caste Is a Fashion for Some”

Responding to Gandhi’s accusations of government neglect of OBCs, Modi highlighted his government’s steps to empower marginalized communities.

“For 30 years, OBC MPs demanded constitutional status for the OBC Commission. We made it a reality. SCs, STs, and OBCs now have more opportunities across sectors,” he asserted.

Taking a veiled dig at the Gandhi family, Modi questioned whether there had ever been three simultaneous MPs from an SC or ST family, contrasting this with the prominence of the Gandhi family in politics.

Foreign Policy and Allegations of Lobbying

Modi dismissed Gandhi’s criticism of the government’s foreign policy approach. “Some people think talking about foreign policy is a sign of maturity. They should read ‘JFK’s Forgotten Crises’ to understand what real foreign policy challenges entail,” he suggested.

    Remarks on President Murmu’s Address

The Prime Minister also rebuked Gandhi for reportedly calling President Murmu’s speech “boring.”

“Those who stage photo sessions in huts will naturally find discussions about the poor boring,” Modi quipped.

    Targeting the Gandhi Legacy

Modi concluded by mocking former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi’s “Mr. Clean” image and his pledge to lead India into the 21st century, underscoring what he described as a significant gap between the opposition’s rhetoric and its actions.
