Shocking news has emerged from Mount Abu, a favorite hill station among Gujaratis. A Gujarati couple visiting Mount Abu in Rajasthan first attempted suicide and later called for help to save themselves. This dramatic incident, reminiscent of a movie plot, has left the police baffled.
What happened?
A young man and woman from Surendranagar, Gujarat, had traveled to Mount Abu two days earlier and were staying at a private hotel. During their stay, they rented a scooter from a local service and set out to explore the forests of Abu. On Wednesday, February 26, they left their hotel in the afternoon, heading from Guru Shikhar to the Shooting Point.
Suddenly, a hotel staff member received a distressed phone call from the couple, pleading for help. Alarmed, the staff immediately informed the police, reporting that the couple had consumed poison near Shooting Point in an apparent suicide attempt.
The police rushed to the scene and found the couple unconscious about two kilometers inside the forest. With the help of locals, they were taken to Global Hospital, but unfortunately, the young woman succumbed during treatment, followed by the young man an hour later.
Police Investigation Underway
The police stated, “After receiving the call from the hotel staff, we immediately rushed to the location. We found the couple unconscious deep in the jungle and, with the help of locals, transported them to the hospital. Sadly, the woman passed away first, followed by the man an hour later.
We have informed their families and sent their bodies for a post-mortem. However, the reason behind their suicide remains unknown. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway.”**
