Gujarat News: Ministers, MLAs, and MPs Complain About Protocol Violations

Ministers, MLAs, and MPs of the BJP government have complained to the state government that officials do not cooperate with them and do not uphold their protocol. The government admitted in the Assembly that a total of nine complaints regarding protocol violations have been lodged by various ministers, MLAs, and MPs.

Question Raised in the Assembly

A Congress MLA raised a question in the Gujarat Assembly regarding how many complaints the government had received about ministers, MLAs, and MPs not being given due protocol.

Response from the Protocol Minister

The protocol minister responded that the government had received nine such complaints. Although there are clear directives to maintain protocol, officials still fail to adhere to them.

According to the complaints:

• Officials do not invite ministers and MLAs to public events in their constituencies.
• Their names are often missing from invitation cards.
• Even when invited, their names are not displayed on event plaques.
• Former MLAs and MPs’ names appear on plaques, while sitting MLAs and MPs are ignored.
• Government officials and police officers do not remain present as per protocol during ministerial visits.

Who Lodged the Complaints?

The complaints about protocol violations were made by leaders including Raghavji Patel, Kunvarji Bavaliya, Dipsinh Rathod, Jaswantsinh Parmar, Sejal Pandya, Arvind Ladani, Shamji Chauhan, Vinod Mordiya, and Hemant Khava.
