    Vadodara: A tragic incident unfolded during a school picnic near Vadodara, Gujarat, as 16 individuals, including 14 students and two teachers, lost their lives when a boat capsized in Harni lake on Thursday, according to police officials. The group, consisting of two dozen students and four teachers, was on a boat ride when the tragedy occurred. Rescue efforts are ongoing to locate the missing persons.

    An official from Harni Police Station stated, “As of now, 14 children and two teachers have lost their lives in the tragedy. One student, who was rescued, is currently undergoing treatment at SSG Hospital.”

    In response to the accident, the Prime Minister‘s office announced an ex-gratia of ₹2 lakh. The Prime Minister expressed distress over the loss of lives and extended condolences to the affected families. Additionally, an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF will be provided to the next of kin of each deceased, and Rs. 50,000 will be given to the injured for their recovery. The local administration is actively assisting those affected.

    Police registers case in Vadodara boat capsize incident

    Authorities have initiated a case following a tragic incident in Vadodara, where 14 individuals, including 12 school children, lost their lives after a boat capsized in Harni Motnath Lake on Thursday, as confirmed by Leela Patil, DCP Vadodara. Speaking to ANI, Patil stated, “A boat carrying children capsized in Harni Motnath Lake. 14 people have died in this incident. A case has been registered. The post-mortem of the bodies is underway.

    Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, accompanied by Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi, visited the injured at SSG Hospital in Vadodara. The local authorities are actively responding to the situation and conducting necessary investigations into the tragic event.

These financial aids aim to provide support and assistance to the affected families during this difficult time.

    A rescue operation is actively in progress following the tragic boat capsize incident in Harni Motnath Lake, Vadodara, which claimed the lives of twelve schoolchildren and two teachers on Thursday. The ongoing search efforts are aimed at locating any missing individuals, and the official mentioned plans to file a missing report on Friday at 10 am as part of the continuing search operation. The community is united in its efforts to address the aftermath of this unfortunate event.
