New Delhi: Under Operation Sindoor, Colonel Sophia Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh provided detailed information about the military action.

Both women officers of the Indian Armed Forces spoke in depth about the attack on Pakistan and stated that the military had dismantled terrorist bases operating within Pakistani territory. Lieutenant Colonel Sophia Qureshi made history by becoming the first woman to lead the Indian Army contingent during the multinational military exercise “Exercise Force 18” held in Pune. This war exercise, held from March 2 to March 8, included participation from 18 countries, including ASEAN nations, as well as Japan, China, Russia, the United States, South Korea, New Zealand, and Australia. Sophia’s grandfather was a retired Army officer, and she is married to an officer from the mechanized infantry.

Wing Commander Vyomika Singh aspired to join the Indian Air Force since childhood. She now serves as a helicopter pilot in the Air Force and has extensive flying experience in high-risk areas. So far, she has clocked over 2,500 flying hours. Vyomika has flown helicopters like Cheetah and Chetak in challenging terrains such as the northeastern states of India and Jammu & Kashmir. She has successfully completed numerous rescue missions. In November 2020, she led several critical missions in Arunachal Pradesh, saving many lives.
