PM Modi’s Roadshow in Vadodara: First Gujarat Visit After Operation Sindoor
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two-day visit to Gujarat, marking his first trip to the state following Operation Sindoor. To commemorate the occasion, a special “Sindoor Yatra” (procession) is being held this morning from Vadodara Airport to Milan Party Plot. The event has sparked great enthusiasm among Vadodara residents, who are turning out in large numbers along the procession route to welcome the Prime Minister. The family of Colonel Sofia Qureshi has also joined the Sindoor Samman Yatra.
Major Inaugurations and Foundation-Laying Events Across Gujarat
Today, PM Modi will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for development projects worth over ₹24,000 crore in Kharod near Dahod, covering sectors such as railways and infrastructure. Later in Bhuj, he will preside over similar events for 33 development initiatives, and by evening, a grand roadshow will be held in Ahmedabad.
On May 27, the Prime Minister will attend a special event at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar, where he will launch and initiate projects worth ₹5,536 crore.
Key Developments Include:
- In Gandhidham, inaugurations include the Centre of Excellence, temples at Mata no Madh, and other projects in areas like Khatla Bhawani and Chachar Kund.
- Launch of transmission systems from the newly constructed Renewable Energy Zone in Khavda.
- Cyclone-resilient underground power distribution network in Gandhidham city.
- High-speed lane corridor from Bhuj to Nakhatrana.
- Establishment of a green hydrogen production facility.
- Construction of 3 road overbridges in Kandla.
- Tourism infrastructure development in Dholavira.
Historic Locomotive Launch in Dahod
PM Modi will dedicate the country’s first 9000 HP locomotive engine from Dahod. Additional railway projects include:
- Doubling of Anand-Godhra, Mehsana-Palanpur, and Rajkot-Hadmatiya rail lines.
- Electrification of the 107 km Sabarmati-Botad railway.
- Gauge conversion of Kalol-Kadi-Katosan rail line.
These projects total approximately ₹23,292 crore.
Clean Drinking Water for 193 Villages
Four major group water supply schemes worth ₹181 crore will be inaugurated to provide clean drinking water in Dahod and Mahisagar districts.
Public Welfare Projects in Dahod and Vadodara
In Dahod, public facilities like the Nagar Palika Bhavan and a tribal museum will be inaugurated. In Vadodara, the foundation will be laid for road widening projects including:
- Four-laning of Savli-Timba road
- Expansion of Kayavarohan-Sapli and Jarod-Samlaya roads
- A new bridge on Padmala-Ranoli road
These works are valued at ₹581 crore.
Healthcare and Housing Developments in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar
On May 27:
- Over 22,000 residential units under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana will be inaugurated at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar.
- Foundation stone will be laid for Phase-3 of the Sabarmati Riverfront development (₹1,000 crore).
- In Gandhinagar, PM Modi will inaugurate the UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research.
- In Ahmedabad’s Civil Hospital campus, he will lay the foundation stone for an IPD facility with 18,000 beds, including 500 for infectious diseases.
Launch of Two New Trains Including Vande Bharat
On May 26, PM Modi will flag off:
- The Sabarmati-Botad train
- The new Sabarmati (Ahmedabad) to Somnath (Veraval) Vande Bharat Express
The 8-coach Vande Bharat Express will officially commence service on May 27.
