Nitin Gadkari on EVs: Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, made a significant announcement, stating that within the next six months, the prices of electric vehicles (EVs) across India will be on par with petrol vehicles. He made this remark while addressing the 32nd Convergence India and 10th Smart Cities India Expo.
Delhi-Dehradun Expressway Nears Completion
Gadkari mentioned that the construction of the 212-kilometer-long Delhi-Dehradun access-controlled expressway will be completed within the next three months. He also emphasized that the government’s policy focuses on import substitution, cost-effectiveness, pollution reduction, and promoting indigenous production.
Emphasis on EV Adoption and Infrastructure Development
The Union Minister further stated that for India to become the third-largest economy, the country must enhance its infrastructure sector. By constructing better roads, logistics costs can be significantly reduced.

Additionally, Nitin Gadkari expressed optimism about India’s economic future, reaffirming the government’s commitment to smart cities and smart transportation.
