Kia Syros: Engine Options and Features

Kia is set to globally debut the Syros SUV on 19 December, with its launch scheduled for early 2025. The Syros will be available with two engine options: a 1.0-litre GDi turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel.

    1.0-litre Turbo Petrol

    • Kia’s smallest yet powerful engine, outperforming the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol.
    • Outputs: 188bhp and 172Nm.
    • Transmission options: 6-speed iMT or 7-speed DCT.

    1.5-litre Diesel

    • A staple across Kia’s lineup, from the Sonet to the Carens.
    • Outputs: 114bhp and 250Nm.
    • Transmission options: 6-speed MT, 6-speed iMT, or a 6-speed torque converter automatic.

    Pricing Strategy

The Syros is expected to sit between the Sonet and Seltos in Kia’s lineup. By relegating the 1.2-litre NA petrol to the Sonet, Kia aims to establish a clearer price distinction. A difference of approximately ₹1 lakh is anticipated between the Sonet and Syros.

    Design and Features

The Kia Syros will feature a more spacious rear-seat package and additional features compared to the Sonet. Teaser images hint at a boxy design, low-set headlamps, and a high roofline, giving it a distinctive presence in the compact SUV segment.
