New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi commends the armed forces while expressing disapproval for opposition leaders who, through their language, are seen as undermining the morale of the military.
On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi commended the armed forces and strongly criticized opposition leaders. He asserted that their casual remarks would not dampen the spirits of the forces, emphasizing that the nation cannot condone their language if they function as “agents” of any external influence.
In response to the Motion of Thanks on the President’s Address in the Lok Sabha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed strong disapproval, particularly directing criticism towards those aiming to disrupt the unity of the country, as reported by PTI.
In an implicit allusion to Congress MP DK Suresh, who had recently claimed discrimination by the Centre against South India in fund allocation and hinted at the possibility of the region seeking autonomy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi questioned, “What motivates you?” He expressed concern over individuals openly discussing the idea of a separate nation within the country, emphasizing the need for unity and criticizing the ongoing pursuit of division, as quoted by PTI.
When confronted by opposition members criticizing his government for the alleged Chinese intrusion into Ladakh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed unwavering confidence in the strength of India’s armed forces. He dismissed the notion that such criticism could undermine the morale of the forces and urged those indulging in loose rhetoric to abandon such dreams. The Prime Minister emphasized that the country would not tolerate language that seemed to align with external interests.
PM Modi highlighted a decade of increased peace and security in the nation, pointing out the diminishing impact of terrorism and Naxalism, now confined to a limited area. He proudly stated that India’s policy of zero-tolerance towards terrorism had gained global recognition, with the Indian armed forces receiving acknowledgment for their prowess both on the borders and at sea.
“The strength of our armed forces is a source of pride,” stated the prime minister, highlighting a shift in focus from concerns about Kashmir to discussions on its unprecedented development. He emphasized that the transformation in discourse reflects the positive strides and achievements in the region, signifying a noteworthy departure from past apprehensions.
