Meet the Six Delhi Cabinet Ministers:
Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma
A key Jat leader in Delhi politics, Parvesh Verma gained prominence as a “giant killer” after defeating AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal in the New Delhi constituency by 4,089 votes. Despite being considered a frontrunner for the chief ministerial post, Verma will now serve as a cabinet minister. He previously represented West Delhi as a Lok Sabha MP from 2014 to 2024.
Kapil Mishra
Kapil Mishra secured victory in the Karawal Nagar constituency, defeating AAP’s Manoj Kumar Tyagi by 23,355 votes. Formerly an AAP member, he won the seat in 2015 and served as Delhi’s water resources minister before being removed from the cabinet over corruption allegations against Satyendar Jain. Mishra later joined the BJP and contested the 2020 Delhi assembly elections from Model Town but lost to AAP’s Akhilesh Pati Tripathi. He has faced criticism for his alleged provocative statements before the 2020 northeast Delhi riots.
Manjinder Singh Sirsa
Winning back his Rajouri Garden seat, Manjinder Singh Sirsa defeated AAP’s Dhanwati Chandela by over 18,000 votes. Sirsa previously represented the constituency in the 2017 by-elections but lost to Chandela in the 2020 Delhi assembly polls. His return to the assembly marks a significant comeback.
Ashish Sood
A prominent BJP leader in Delhi politics, Ashish Sood was considered a strong contender for the chief ministerial post. He won the Janakpuri seat by defeating AAP’s Parveen Kumar by 18,766 votes. Sood also serves as the BJP’s co-incharge for Jammu and Kashmir.
Pankaj Kumar Singh
Son of former MCD leader Raja Mohan Singh, Pankaj Kumar Singh is a dentist by profession and has held key positions in the MCD. He won his first assembly election from Vikaspuri, defeating AAP’s Mahinder Yadav by nearly 13,000 votes.
Ravinder Indraj Singh
A key Dalit leader in the Delhi BJP, Ravinder Indraj Singh secured victory from the Bawana assembly seat, defeating AAP’s Jai Bhagwan Upkar by over 31,000 votes. As a member of the BJP’s SC Morcha, he has been actively working for the Dalit community for years.
