Ahmedabad: On Friday, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s (AMC) health department conducted inspections across several medical clinics in the city and found 10 individuals practicing medicine without valid degrees, leading to the sealing of their clinics. Earlier, on August 22, the AMC had sealed two other clinics for similar reasons, bringing the total number of sealed clinics to 12.
The department discovered that practitioners at these clinics were administering IV fluids and allopathic injections without valid medical qualifications, posing a health risk to patients. As a result, three clinics in Sarkhej, three in Odhav, two in Lambha, and one each in Chandkheda and Saraspur were sealed.
In Odhav, Patil’s Clinic, Shanti Clinic, and Odhav Clinic were sealed due to the practitioners’ lack of valid medical degrees. Similarly, a private clinic in Chandkheda was sealed for the same reason. In Saraspur, a skin clinic in Emmanuel Society was sealed due to the practitioner’s lack of a valid degree. In Lambha, Jagat Holistic Health Centre and Shri Ram Clinic were sealed, and in Sarkhej, Shama Clinic, Anas Clinic, and Morax Clinic were sealed because the practitioners did not have valid allopathy degrees.
