Ahmedabad: Police in Ahmedabad are searching for the driver of a car after CCTV footage captured the vehicle hitting three members of the same family who were out for a walk. The three individuals, who sustained serious injuries, have been hospitalized.
The accident occurred on Saturday night in the city’s Nikol area.
The CCTV footage shows the family walking along a busy road. As they stop briefly to chat, a speeding car suddenly rams into them. The impact flung at least one person into the air.
Despite attempts by bystanders to chase the car, it did not stop. Passers-by rushed to assist the injured.
A police complaint has been filed, prompting a search operation to find the driver.
In April, another hit-and-run accident in Ahmedabad was also caught on CCTV, showing an Amdavad Municipal Transport Service bus fatally striking a two-wheeler rider before fleeing the scene.
