Ahmedabad: Passengers on an AMTS bus experienced a terrifying ride when the vehicle veered into a narrow lane in the Abad Nagar area and into the bylane of a housing society near Vakil Saheb Bridge in Bopal. Alarmed, the passengers shouted for the driver to stop. After a video of the incident went viral, rumors spread that the driver was drunk.

Bopal police inspector A. P. Chaudhary stated, “The driver was rushed to the hospital after he fell unconscious. At present, we cannot confirm if the driver was drunk or if he had health issues. Police teams have gone to the scene and the hospital to gather more information.”

On Friday evening, the bus, operating on Route 50 between Meghaninagar and Ghuma, suddenly entered the Abad Nagar lane and then into Taksharti Society. AMTS officials quickly arrived at the scene to assess the situation.

Officials reported that the passengers’ cries for help prompted the driver to apply the brakes. He managed to reduce the bus’s speed, stopping it without causing any damage or injuries. Locals initially feared the driver was drunk and had lost control of the bus but later realized he had fallen unconscious.

A video showing the driver in an unconscious state has gone viral. AMTS officials explained that the driver’s blood pressure had spiked, leading him to black out and lose control of the vehicle.
