Coldplay’s Mumbai Concert: A Cultural Celebration Amidst Concerns for Ahmedabad Shows

From exploring the meaning of “Jai Shri Ram” to giving a shout-out to Jasprit Bumrah and even speaking Marathi, Coldplay’s Mumbai concert was a cultural extravaganza. The band’s frontman, Chris Martin, charmed the audience with his humor and curiosity, creating an unforgettable experience.

Viral Social Media Concerns for Ahmedabad Shows

Following Coldplay’s first two shows at DY Patil Stadium, viral posts on social media have sparked concern among fans about the upcoming concerts in Ahmedabad on January 25 and 26.

Several widely followed social media pages shared images claiming that the Mumbai audience didn’t sing along with Chris Martin on popular hits like “Hymn for the Weekend” and “Yellow.” This prompted many fans to reconsider attending the Ahmedabad shows.

“I bought two tickets for ₹9,500, but after seeing these posts, I don’t want to go anymore. I’m fine with taking a loss; I just want to sell the tickets,” said one fan anonymously. “If Mumbai’s crowd wasn’t engaging, I can only imagine Ahmedabad.”

Ticketing Issues Add to Fans’ Frustration

The ticketing platform BookMyShow’s announcement of limited ticket availability has further disappointed fans. Many questioned why earlier sales were marked as sold out if more tickets were available.

“BookMyShow made us think tickets were sold out during the first batch, so I ended up buying from a reseller at a higher price. Why gate-keep when space was available?” lamented Coldplay fan Sunidhi Gemawat. Despite the frustration, some fans were still searching for tickets as of Monday.

Disney+ Hotstar Broadcast Raises Exclusivity Concerns

Adding to the mixed emotions, Disney+ Hotstar announced it would broadcast Coldplay’s January 26 Ahmedabad concert live, as part of its collaboration with the band. This announcement left some fans feeling shortchanged.

“There should be exclusivity if we’re paying for tickets,” said Devansh Patel. “I’d rather sell my tickets, watch on Hotstar, and avoid the traffic and crowds.”

As anticipation builds for the Ahmedabad shows, fans are divided between excitement and growing concerns over their concert experience.
