Ahmedabad: Gujarat BJP president CR Paatil announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address approximately one lakh BJP workers in Ahmedabad on September 16. This will be his first visit to Gujarat after starting his third term in office in June. During the announcement, Paatil emphasized the need for party workers to overcome the disappointment from the recent Lok Sabha election results, where the BJP fell short of the majority mark.

While no official schedule has been released, sources indicate that PM Modi will first inaugurate the 4th edition of the Global Renewable Energy Investors Meet and Expo (RE-INVEST) at Mahatma Mandir. Following this, he is expected to inaugurate the second phase of the metro train service connecting Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar.

In the evening, a large gathering of one lakh BJP workers will take place at GMDC Ground in Ahmedabad to welcome PM Modi. Paatil highlighted that this event aims to demonstrate the party’s organizational strength and send a powerful message to the country.

Separately, on September 6, the Ministry of Jal Shakti, in collaboration with the Gujarat government, will launch the Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari Yojana in Surat. PM Modi will participate virtually in the event. This initiative is part of the ongoing Jal Shakti Abhiyan, which has been running since 2021 with the theme ‘Catch the Rain, Where It Falls – When It Falls’ to promote water conservation. The 2024 campaign will focus on ‘Nari Shakti se Jal Shakti’.

On Tuesday, Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel held a video conference with district collectors to ensure the success of the campaign and reviewed the monsoon situation in the state.
