Jagdish Panchal News: Newly appointed Gujarat BJP State President Jagdish Panchal (Vishwakarma) formally took charge today and addressed party workers. He expressed gratitude to the organization for entrusting him with the responsibility and praised the tradition of elevating booth-level workers to leadership positions.
In his address, Panchal said, “I bow to everyone for the responsibility given to me. Former State President C. R. Patil has done remarkable work in strengthening the organization.”
Highlighting that his appointment symbolizes the recognition of grassroots workers, Panchal added, “I, too, have served as a booth worker. My true identity is the saffron scarf I wear, and the real recognition of this post lies with the workers seated before me.”
Delivering a clear message to the cadre, he said, “The post of State President is not my identity—being a BJP worker is my true identity. I urge every worker to remember that the people of Gujarat have trusted us for the last 25 years, which makes our responsibility even greater.”
Why Jagdish Panchal as Gujarat BJP Chief?
This time, the BJP high command has chosen an OBC leader to lead the party in Gujarat. Panchal comes from the OBC community and carries vast organizational experience. He has successfully served as Ahmedabad City BJP President and also made his mark as a state-level minister. Taking these factors into account, the high command decided to appoint him as the State President, preferring a relatively younger leader over veterans.
Panchal is also considered a close confidant of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. His appointment comes at a time when Gujarat BJP is facing internal rifts, and the leadership change is expected to help ease those tensions.
