On the day of Holi, over 25 individuals in Ahmedabad’s Vastral area created terror by roaming the streets armed with open swords, knives, and metal pipes. They blocked roads, attacked innocent passersby, and vandalized parked vehicles. These anti-social elements were trying to assert dominance and spread fear in the locality.
Police Action and Arrests
So far, police have arrested three more accused, and action is underway to demolish four more illegal houses belonging to the rioters. Earlier, seven illegal houses of the accused had already been demolished using bulldozers as part of strict legal action.

After videos of these violent acts went viral on social media, police swiftly took action. The arrested accused were paraded publicly to give a strong message about law enforcement. According to sources, police have formed a special team to catch the main accused who is still absconding.

On Holi night, groups of miscreants created chaos in Vastral. In the viral videos, they are seen threatening pedestrians, vandalizing vehicles, and attacking people. Locals reported that a mob of 15-20 people carried out these violent acts and used abusive language during their rampage.

Police have submitted a detailed report of all the accused’s properties to the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC). In the coming days, bulldozers will be used to demolish four more illegal houses linked to these accused individuals.
