President Droupadi Murmu arrived at Ekta Nagar in Gujarat’s Narmada district on Wednesday as part of her four-day visit to the state, officials said. She landed at Vadodara airport in the evening, where she was welcomed by Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat and state minister Jagdish Vishwakarma. From there, she proceeded to Ekta Nagar (Kevadia), according to a statement from the Gujarat government.
On February 27, the President is scheduled to visit the Statue of Unity and the Ekta Skill Development Centre in Kevadia, an official associated with the 182-metre-tall monument dedicated to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel stated.
Later in the day, she will serve as the chief guest at the 44th convocation ceremony of the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad, the Press Information Bureau (PIB) announced. On February 28, she will participate in the 3rd convocation of the National Forensic Sciences University in Gandhinagar.
On the same day, she is also set to visit the Smritivan Earthquake Memorial in Bhuj, Kutch district. On March 1, the final day of her visit, Murmu will travel to Dholavira, a Harappan-era archaeological site in Kutch that has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the release added.
