Srinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, on March 7, launched the ‘Dekho Apna Desh People’s Choice 2024‘ initiative. This nationwide initiative aims to gauge the preferences and choices of the people regarding tourism destinations across the country. The initiative is designed to identify the popular choices and sentiments of the citizens when it comes to tourism, helping to shape and promote travel and exploration within the country.
The nationwide poll, part of the ‘Dekho Apna Desh People’s Choice 2024’ initiative, seeks to involve citizens in identifying their most preferred tourist attractions. It aims to understand perceptions across five tourism categories, which include spiritual, cultural and heritage, nature and wildlife, adventure, and an ‘other’ category. This initiative provides an opportunity for citizens to actively contribute to shaping tourism preferences and promoting destinations in India.
In the ‘other’ category of the poll, individuals can cast their votes for personal favorites and contribute to revealing hidden tourism treasures. This includes unexplored tourism attractions and destinations such as vibrant border villages, wellness tourism, wedding tourism, and other unique places that may not be widely known but hold significant tourism potential.
According to the statement, the poll exercise is being hosted on the MyGov platform, the citizen engagement portal of the Government of India.
