    Mumbai: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has received a notice from the Maharashtra Labour Department regarding its employee transfer practices. The notice is in response to complaints filed by the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) trade union. The union alleged that TCS was involved in the “forced transfer” of employees from Maharashtra to other states, impacting local employment. TCS has been given 15 days to respond to the notice, and the company has asserted its commitment to complying with all applicable laws and regulations.

    The notice from the Maharashtra Labour Department to Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) comes in response to complaints filed by the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) trade union.
    The MNS claimed that TCS was involved in “forced transfers” of employees from Maharashtra to other states, impacting local employment. The notice requires TCS executives to meet with department officials on January 18, 2024, to address the issue.
    TCS has yet to respond to the notice, and the company faces allegations of causing hardship to employees through abrupt transfers without proper notice or consultation.

    Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) sent emails to some employees instructing them to relocate to Mumbai, warning that failure to comply with the transfer order and report to the transferred branch within 14 days would result in an immediate stoppage of salary.
    The notice comes amid complaints filed by the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) trade union, accusing TCS of causing hardships to employees through abrupt transfers without proper notice or consultation.
    The company has yet to respond to the notice from the Maharashtra Labour Department, and the issue involves allegations of forced transfers and salary stoppages for non-compliance.
