Ahmedabad: Seven individuals from Ahmedabad secured positions within the Top 50 nationwide in the Chartered Accountancy final exam conducted in November. Additionally, in the CA Intermediate exam, eight students from the city claimed spots in the prestigious Top 50. Notably, Chirag Asava clinched the ninth position in the CA Final at the national level. The Ahmedabad chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAI) revealed the names of the other accomplished rank-holders, namely Deep Shah (35th), Raghav Jindal (39th), Nikita Somai (41st), Hrushki Vyas (47th), Ronit Shah (49th), and Anurag Gupta (50th).
In the CA Intermediate exam, the eight individuals who secured positions in the India Top 50 were Tanay Bhageria (2nd), Khushi Mundra (4th), Jaldhi Vora (13th), Anshika Jain (24th), Ved Prajapati (41st), Shruti Thakkar (41st), Kamil Lala (42nd), and Manav Patel (45th).
Notably, in the CA Final, the Ahmedabad branch exhibited an impressive success rate of 13.35% across both groups, surpassing the national average of 9.42%. Out of 869 candidates from Ahmedabad, 116 successfully passed both groups. In Group 1, 55 students, constituting 5.97% of the 922 participants, achieved success, while in Group 2, 118 individuals, accounting for 16.98% of the 695 candidates, cleared the examination.
In India, out of 32,907 examinees, 3,099 successfully passed in both groups, achieving a success rate of 9.42%. Additionally, 6,176 students, constituting 9.46% of the 65,294 candidates, passed in Group 1, while 13,540 individuals, accounting for 21.60% of the 62,679 students, cleared the exam in Group 2. Sunil Sanghvi, vice-chairman of the Ahmedabad branch of the Western India regional council (WIRC) of ICAI, provided these statistics. Sanghvi highlighted that in the CA Intermediate, the Ahmedabad branch outperformed the national passing rate, achieving a success rate of 15.61% for both groups, as compared to the country’s rate of 9.73%. From Ahmedabad, 301 out of 1,928 candidates passed in both groups.
Tanay Bhageria, who narrowly missed securing the first rank by three marks, completed his Class 12 at DAV International School and is currently pursuing a BCom at GLS SMP College. Tanay initially considered pursuing science after Class 10 but opted for commerce due to his limited proficiency in chemistry. Khushi Mundra, who ranked fourth in India, cited her elder brother’s inspiration, as he is a CA. She emphasized that she avoided social media during her preparation and advised all students to do the same.
