Massive Crowds Gather at Triveni Sangam for Magh Purnima Snan at Mahakumbh Mela
On Wednesday, scores of devotees thronged the ghats of Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, to take a holy dip on the auspicious occasion of ‘Magh Purnima’ during the Mahakumbh Mela.
Early morning drone footage captured the sight of massive crowds gathered at the Sangam. Devotees and ascetics, immersed in the sacred waters, also experienced a ‘Push Varsha’—a shower of flower petals from a helicopter flying overhead.
Unprecedented Crowds and Administrative Preparations
Additional Mela Officer Vivek Chaturvedi noted an unexpectedly large turnout this year for the holy bath. “An unexpected crowd has come to the Mela this time for the snan,” he said, assuring that all necessary arrangements were in place. The bathing rituals for Magh Purnima will continue throughout the day.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, addressing the significance of the event, stated that over 45 crore devotees have participated in the holy Triveni bath at the Maha Kumbh so far.
