Indian Data Must Stay in India: On October 15, Reliance Jio Chairman Akash Ambani urged the government to expedite revisions to the 2020 draft of the data center policy to ensure that “Indian data remains within Indian data centers.”

Speaking at the India Mobile Congress 2024, Ambani emphasized the nation’s progress in telecommunications, noting, “India has evolved from crawling at 2G speeds to racing down the 5G highway and is poised to achieve even greater milestones with 6G.”

He added, “The digital revolution has reached the remotest corners of the country,” crediting Reliance Jio’s pivotal role in driving this transformation.

Ambani also highlighted the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI), stating, “AI can revolutionize manufacturing, including SMEs, enabling India to become a next-generation factory and service hub for the world.”

He reaffirmed Jio’s commitment to democratizing AI by offering advanced AI models and services at affordable prices for all.
