Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani and Reliance Foundation Chairperson Nita Ambani were photographed with US President-elect Donald Trump a day before his inauguration in Washington, DC.
Mukesh Ambani, one of the world’s wealthiest individuals, was invited to attend the Republican leader’s swearing-in ceremony and a reception dinner hosted by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
The Ambanis were among the Indian entrepreneurs invited to a “candlelight dinner” on the eve of Trump’s inauguration, according to reports. During the pre-inauguration event, the couple posed for pictures with industry leaders and Trump himself.
As reported by news agency ANI, Ambani is expected to be seated prominently on the dais during the inauguration ceremony alongside Trump’s Cabinet nominees and other notable officials.
Photos from the dinner revealed Mukesh Ambani in a black suit, while Nita Ambani wore a black saree paired with an overcoat and emerald jewelry. Real estate entrepreneur Kalpesh Mehta shared images with the couple on Instagram, captioning them, “Fun night with Nita and Mukesh Ambani at the inaugural event for President Trump.”
Apart from the Ambanis, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and other global business leaders were also present at the dinner.
Donald Trump’s Inauguration
Donald Trump will be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States at an indoor ceremony in Washington, DC, due to the extreme cold. This marks the first indoor presidential inauguration since 1985.
India’s external affairs minister, S. Jaishankar, will represent the nation at the event. Other prominent attendees include Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, Sam Altman, Barack Obama, Kamala Harris, Hillary Clinton, Tim Cook, and Sundar Pichai.
The inauguration day itinerary includes a traditional church service, tea at the White House, the swearing-in ceremony at the Capitol, and Trump’s inaugural address. The event will conclude with a farewell to outgoing President Joe Biden.
