Lok Sabha 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu, on Thursday, May 30, for a two-day meditation retreat as campaigning for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections concluded. Ahead of the elections, which will take place over seven phases, PM Modi, aiming for a third consecutive victory, participated in 206 public outreach events.

This year, Modi’s campaign activities significantly exceeded his 145 public engagements from the 2019 elections. The 2024 campaign period lasted 76 days, compared to 68 days in 2019.

In addition to his public events, PM Modi conducted nearly 80 media interviews, according to sources in the Prime Minister’s Office cited by The Hindu. The election results will be announced on June 4.

News18 reported that PM Modi attended five events per day on three separate days and held four daily events on 22 other days. Uttar Pradesh, the state with the most parliamentary seats, hosted 31 rallies by the prime minister, followed by Bihar with 20 rallies and Maharashtra with 19. In West Bengal, a key battleground, Modi held 18 events, including a major roadshow.

During his meditation retreat in Kanyakumari, PM Modi will engage in spiritual activities at a site associated with Swami Vivekananda, from Thursday evening until June 1.

On the opposition side, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra of the Congress Party conducted 107 and 108 public outreach programs, respectively. Rahul Gandhi campaigned in Punjab on the final day of campaigning, while Priyanka Gandhi held a roadshow in Solan, Himachal Pradesh.
