Lok Sabha 2024: A BJP official stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to deliver a speech at a rally in Bastar, Chhattisgarh, on Monday.
The rally will take place in Aamabal village, Bhanpuri, within the Bastar Lok Sabha constituency, which is slated for polls on April 19, according to Anurag Agarwal, the media co-in charge of the Chhattisgarh BJP.
Additionally, the Prime Minister will take part in a public gathering in Chandrapur, Maharashtra, as part of the party’s strategy to conduct two rallies in each of the state’s five regions.
As per the state BJP unit, the Prime Minister will conduct rallies in constituencies anticipated to witness stiff competition. Sudhir Mungantiwar, a BJP minister, has been nominated in Chandrapur and will compete against the Congress candidate Pratibha Dhanorkar, who replaces the late Balu Dhanorkar, deceased in May 2023. Chandrapur stood as the sole seat in the state won by the Congress in the 209 Lok Sabha elections.
“With the elections being spread out over five phases, we have ample time to organize rallies featuring both central and state leaders. In constituencies categorized as challenging, we will intensify our focus, culminating with Modi’s rally,” stated a BJP leader.
This statement comes in the context of Modi’s visit to the state amid a dispute between Mahayuti partners over seat-sharing. Sources indicate that seven out of the state’s 48 Lok Sabha seats are presenting challenges, leading to the ruling alliance’s delay in releasing the names for 15 seats.
On Monday, the Union Home Minister will commence the NDA campaign in Arunachal Pradesh with a rally in Pasighat, announced senior Arunachal BJP vice-president Tarh Tarak.
Furthermore, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is slated to address rallies and roadshows in Namakkal, Nagapattinam, and Tenkasi.
In a separate development, Wayanad MP and senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will inaugurate his party’s campaign in Madhya Pradesh on Monday. He will address a public meeting in Dhanora, Seoni district, in support of the party’s Mandla Lok Sabha candidate, Omankar Singh Markam.
Rahul Gandhi is expected to arrive in Dhanora around 12:40 PM, where he will deliver a speech at the rally before heading to Shahdol. In Shahdol, he will engage in local events before proceeding to Jabalpur.
