Lok Sabha 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alongside NDA ally and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, expressed optimism during a roadshow in Patna, projecting confidence that the ruling coalition would outperform its 2019 Lok Sabha election results.

PM Modi even suggested the possibility of winning back the only constituency lost in the previous election. Speaking exclusively to NDTV during the roadshow, he anticipated a clean sweep for the alliance in Bihar, emphasizing that there might not be any seat losses this time.

Highlighting his strong connections with Bihar and its people, PM Modi emphasized his frequent visits for organizational work and interactions across the state. He underscored Bihar’s significance in national politics, stating that it has infused a renewed vigor into the BJP and NDA’s target of securing over 400 seats nationwide.

The upcoming elections in Bihar hold substantial importance for both the NDA and the opposition alliance, as Bihar sends a significant number of MPs to the Lok Sabha. The alliance dynamics have shifted with Nitish Kumar’s return to the NDA earlier this year.

In the 2019 elections, the BJP and JDU had contested 17 seats each, with both securing victories in their quota. However, the Congress won the Kishanganj constituency, and RJD failed to secure any seats.

This year’s seat-sharing arrangement allocates 17 seats to the BJP, 16 to JDU, and five to Chirag Paswan’s LJP, among others, within the NDA. The Mahagathbandhan, the opposition coalition, has allocated a bulk of 26 seats to the RJD.

With Bihar set to play a pivotal role in the upcoming elections, both alliances are gearing up for a closely contested battle to secure victory in this crucial state.
