PM Modi in Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the Congress manifesto for the Lok Sabha elections on Friday, labeling it as ‘Maoist’.
“The Congress is fighting for its survival and will go to any lengths to save itself. Its Maoist manifesto targets gold from temples and women’s ‘mangalsutras’. This manifesto will halt economic growth and lead the country to bankruptcy,” Modi said at a rally in Mumbai’s Shivaji Park.
Continuing his critique, PM Modi was quoted by PTI saying, “The Congress also plans a 50 percent inheritance tax. The party is planning to scrutinize your property and hand it over to their vote-bank, calling it vote Jihad.”
During the rally, Modi also criticized the Shiv Sena faction led by Uddhav Thackeray, accusing them of ‘stealing’ the people’s mandate in 2019.
“When they ‘stole’ the mandate in Maharashtra, they hindered development projects like the bullet train and Mumbai metro. Modi is here to restore Mumbai’s rights,” he asserted.

“The fake Shiv Sena betrayed Balasaheb and the sacrifices of Shiv Sainiks,” the prime minister said. “For power, they allied with those who disrespected the Ram temple and supported people who partied after the Mumbai terror attacks.”
“The Congress insults Veer Savarkar day and night, and this fake Shiv Sena sits comfortably with them,” Modi continued.
Without naming NCP (SP) president Sharad Pawar, Modi said, “I challenge the NCP leader to ask Congress MP Rahul Gandhi to promise he won’t insult Savarkar again. The INDI alliance has betrayed the country by giving a clean chit to terrorist Ajmal Kasab and questioning surgical strikes. They want to take away SC/ST/OBC quotas and give them to those who speak of vote Jihad.”
