New Delhi: On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a veiled reference to Pakistan, stating that those who once inflicted terror upon India were now experiencing suffering, contrasting with India’s recognized role in global advancement. Addressing the News18 Rising Bharat Conclave, he exuded confidence in winning the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, emphasizing the importance of the next five years in sustaining India’s growth trajectory.

Modi highlighted the progress achieved over the past decade across various fronts, underlining the significance of continued development in the years ahead.

Prime Minister Modi underscored the transformative impact of India’s rise, asserting that both perpetrators of terrorism and nations pursuing development and peace have witnessed the ascendancy of a resurgent India. He highlighted the nation’s resilience in overcoming the scars of terrorism, emphasizing the message it sends to those responsible.

Modi referenced remarks made by Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut, who likened him to Aurangzeb, noting that despite such criticisms, his government remains focused on its performance over the past decade and has already begun outlining plans for the next 100 days in its third term. He criticized the opposition for resorting to personal attacks, citing instances where he has been verbally abused and compared to historical figures, including Aurangzeb, with threats made against him.

Modi emphasized India’s significant strides on the global stage, asserting that the 21st century is widely recognized as India’s era. He pointed to the confidence shown by major rating agencies and economists in India’s upward trajectory over the past decade, attributing it to the remarkable changes the country has undergone.

Highlighting key achievements, he noted that 250 million people had been lifted out of poverty, India had ascended from the 10th largest economy to the fifth, forex reserves had surpassed $700 billion, and exports had experienced remarkable growth. Modi stressed the government’s commitment to leveraging technology to combat corruption, leading to the exposure of hidden wealth. He cited instances where money was discovered concealed in unusual places like beds and walls, mentioning specific cases involving members of the Congress and TMC parties.

Modi contrasted the current scenario with the past, where questions were raised about inaction against the powerful, highlighting that those now under scrutiny were questioning why they were being targeted.
