IPL 2025 Champions: Virat Kohli Says – “My Heart and Soul Will Always Be with Bengaluru”

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) clinched their maiden IPL title by defeating Punjab Kings by six runs in the final held at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday. Following the historic win, RCB’s veteran batsman Virat Kohli expressed his deep emotional connection with the team, saying that his heart and soul have always been with Bengaluru. Kohli, who has been part of the RCB franchise since the very beginning of the IPL, finally lifted the trophy in the 18th season.

“This moment is unbelievable; I’ve always given my best to make the team win”

Speaking to the broadcaster after RCB’s victory, an emotional Kohli said, “This is an unbelievable moment. The Red Army has always stood behind me. This win is just as important for the fans as it is for the team. It’s been 18 years. I gave this team my early years, my prime, and now my experience. Every season, I’ve given my best to help the team win. Finally, the moment has arrived — it’s an incredible feeling.”

“I’ve won almost every other major trophy”

Kohli expressed immense satisfaction after finally becoming an IPL champion with RCB. “I’ve won almost every other major trophy — the World Cup, T20 World Cup, Champions Trophy. But the IPL? This one stands above all. I’ve given it my all for 18 years. I’ve stayed loyal to the team no matter what. There were times I considered other things, but I stood by them and they stood by me. I’ve always dreamed of lifting the IPL trophy with RCB.”

“I’ll play with RCB till my last IPL match”

“This win means more than winning with any other team. My heart is with Bengaluru. My soul is with Bengaluru. This is the team I’ll continue playing for until my last IPL match. As a player, you dream of a big win, and sometimes it doesn’t come true — but today, I’m going to sleep like a child.”
