In his farewell Test match, David Warner played a crucial role by scoring 57 runs, guiding Australia to an eight-wicket victory over Pakistan on Saturday. This marked a triumphant conclusion to his illustrious 112-test career, securing a win on his home ground.
As Australia required just 11 runs to secure its third consecutive victory in the three-test series, David Warner was declared lbw off Sajid Khan’s bowling. Exiting the Sydney Cricket Ground to a resounding applause, Warner waved to the crowd, marking the end of his innings and the match.
Thank you, David Warner.

Australia efficiently secured Pakistan’s three remaining wickets on Saturday morning, setting a 130-run victory target with nearly two full days remaining. After Josh Hazlewood’s impressive performance with figures of 4-16 on Day 3, Pakistan struggled to resist and were eventually all out. Mohammad Rizwan (28) and Aamir Jamal (18) managed a 42-run partnership for the eighth wicket, but the resistance crumbled swiftly once Nathan Lyon had Rizwan caught at leg slip.
Nathan Lyon concluded Pakistan’s innings by bowling Hasan Ali, achieving figures of 3-36.
Earlier in the day, David Warner, who led the team onto the field, was acknowledged with a tribute that read “Thanks Dave,” accompanied by his trademark leap, painted on the ground in front of the Members Stand.
Australia secured victories in the first test in Perth by 360 runs and the second test by 79 runs at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
