    Paris 2024 Olympics: After a dazzling opening ceremony, the Indian team is set to compete in seven sports on July 27, with shooting, hockey, badminton, and tennis taking center stage. India, the most successful men’s hockey team at the Olympics, boasts a record 12 medals—eight gold, one silver, and three bronze.

    Here’s the complete schedule for India on Day 1:

    Rowing:

    • Balraj Panwar will compete in the single sculls heats at 12:30 PM.

    Shooting:

    • The 10 m air rifle mixed team qualification is scheduled for 12:30 PM, featuring teams Sandeep Singh/Elavenil Valarivan and Arjun Babuta/Ramita Jindal.
    • The 10 m air pistol men’s and women’s qualifiers will follow at 2 PM and 4 PM, showcasing stars like Sarabjot Singh, Arjun Cheema, Manu Bhaker, and Rhythm Sangwan.

    Tennis:

    • The first round of men’s doubles tennis starts at 3:30 PM, with Rohan Bopanna and N Sriram Balaji aiming for an Olympic medal. Bopanna, fresh from a Grand Slam win in the Australian Open men’s doubles, will leverage his momentum and experience after narrowly missing a mixed doubles medal in Rio 2016.

    Badminton:

    • Matches in men’s singles, doubles, and women’s doubles run from 11:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Medal prospect Lakshya Sen, the men’s doubles pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, and the women’s doubles team Tanisha Crasto and Ashwini Ponnappa are in the spotlight.

    Table Tennis:

    • At 7:15 PM, Harmeet Desai will compete in the preliminary round of men’s singles.

    Hockey:

    • The Indian men’s hockey team will play New Zealand in a Pool B match at 9:00 PM. After winning bronze in Tokyo 2020, they are determined to aim for gold.

    Boxing:

    • At 12:02 AM, Preeti will begin her campaign in the women’s 54 kg category, competing in the round of 32.
